Step on in and slide behind the wheel of one of the most potent 1946 Ford Coupes you’ve ever seen – Rich Bickle’s Muscle Up Performance resto rod.

A Carl Wegner NASCAR Busch Series engine serves as the powerplant for this wild 1946 Muscle Up Performance creation. The engine was raced in the division by Rich Bickle in a Ford Taurus Busch Series stocker during the 2000 season. The magic bullet features 358 cubic inches and a 390 Holley four-barrel carburetor. Originally, the engine dyno’ed somewhere around 580 horsepower.

A 1946 Ford Business Coupe served as a base car for this Muscle Up Performance resto rod creation.

To complete the NASCAR theme of this 1946 Ford Coupe, Rich Bickle and Muscle Up Performance used Auto Meter competition style gauges in the dash.

Given the classic nature of the body of the 1946 Ford Business Coupe, the car’s lines were kept 100 percent original except where the front fenders were slightly altered to ‘french’ the headlights.

Wheeling this porent 580-horsepower 1946 Ford is a handful, but easy to do thanks to a comfortable cockpit and Appleton rack and pinion steering.
