The latest Muscle Up Performance project - a 1970 Chevy Chevelle for Linda Hammen - is coming along nicely.

The car, which will eventually be an asphalt eating monster featuring a 502 cubic inch fuel injected engine, is in the fabrication stages at Muscle Up. The car was previously media blasted and now the vehicle is being massaged by a team of fabricators and welders.

 "Linda had a 1970 Chevelle as a kid and she really loved it," said Muscle Up Performance owner Rich Bickle. "We were able to find a body for her out in California and we built a Muscle Up Performance full-frame replacement for it. It's going to be pretty neat."

Neat isn't the word for this car. Hammen worked with Muscle Up to create a computer rendering of what the final car will look like. When completed, it's sure to be a total head turner.

"It's going to be a pretty unique car," said Bickle. "Between the computer rendering and the small body mods we're going to make to it, I've never seen one like it.  It's definitely going to be a magazine quality car and will show the kind of work we are producing here at Muscle Up."

In addition to the resto work on the car, Muscle Up also provided the core of the new, high performance vehicle - a full frame, bolt in chassis. According to Bickle, the frame can be used for a wide variety of GM A-body cars and can be easily installed by any do-it-yourself car buff.

"All of our GM A-Body frames fit cars from 1964-1972 are easy to install," said Bickle. "You just take the old frame off, set your body on the new one and bolt it right up. We've matched everything to the original mounts. After that, you put your front fenders on and you're ready to go. It's just that simple."
